I was really so sorry to hear that Sam had passed away. When we were all locked down or at least unable to meet in person, I reminded myself that we would one day be doing our SNP fundraisers again. And Sam was one of the faces I looked forward to seeing again. He ALWAYS made me laugh, he was so dry and funny. I can’t remember if he was a teacher or if he just reminded me of the teachers we’ve all had who are scary on the outside but so witty, knowledgeable and memorable with it. I was always quite chuffed when Sam seemed to quite like me, you just felt if he approved, you must be ok. Maybe that was because he was just straight down the line, no agendas, no sides to him, he was just Sam, a lovely, clever, well read man. I will miss him.
